PRINCES IN EDMONTON.
AFTER CALGARY VISIT. "RANCH” OR “BAWNCH." The Prince of Wales and his brother, Prince George, returned to Edmonton en route to the “E P” Ranch at Pekisko Irom Calgary, where they had gone to greet Premier Baldwin, says a New York paper. Both Princes wore double-breasted gray lounge suits and the straw hats photographs of which have made fashionable London wonder whether the straw hat will And its way into Great Britain. The Prince of Wales has discovered the difference between a “ranch" and a “rawnch.” lie confessed it to a huge crowd gathered at Calgary to welcome Premier Baldwin of Great Britain. Alter Mr Baldwin had spoken, there were shouts for the Prince, and ids brief, witty speech came unexpectedly.
“It is a delight for me to come down from mv ‘rawnch’” said the Prince, “but perhaps I should say ranch,” he added.
The crowd roared with laughter, am! a voice came from the grandstand :
Oh, you’re learning Canadian fast." “I am told,” the Prince went on, “that there is a difference between a rawnch and a ranch. A ranch pays, and a rawnch doesn’t, but I am not
going to give away which my place is.”
