IMPORTANT SUB-DIVISION
RATEPAYERS WILL BENEFIT WOODLANDS DRAINAGE DISTRICT. TWO LARGE AREAS MADE. With the object of protecting the interests of its ratepayers to the fullest degree the Woodlands Drainage Board has decided lo cut its area into two districts, though under the same control, and to-day passed a special resolution, confirming that action. The resolution was to the effect that in pursuance and exercise of its powers as provided for under Section 11. of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, the board decided to sub-divide its district under sub-divisions named the Gordonton and Motumaoho areas respectively, the former being all the land within the Woodlands Drainage District lying to the west of the line known as the confiscation line, and the latter all the land lying to the east of that line. Further, the board, under the powers conveyed in Section 11. of the Land Drainage Amendment, 1920, resolved that the number, of trustees to be elected for the Gordonton section should be four, and for the Motumaoho area three.
