"These wintry days freeze one to the marrow," he said to a Rugby official, "and it's none too comfortable sometimes in the cold and rain watching the matches. A new award for shop assistants has been filed. The closing- time of shops is fixed at 5.30 p.m. on ordinary nights, nine o'clock on the late night, and 12.15 p.m. on Saturday. In Wellington and Dunediri the times are 5.30 o'clock, 9 o'clock and 12.30 respectively. The general closing time outside these places is 6 o'clock, 12.30 on Saturdays and 9 o'clock on the 'ate night, Rotorua excepted.
