CHIMES AND RHYMES.

SPRING TIME. (By Audrey Scddon 8 years, Hamilton.) In the purple clover, There arc many bees, Flitting in and out the flowers, And in among the trees. MOON MAGIC. I ran light-footed thro’ the dew All in a flimsy dress. I don’t quite know the reason why, I know the moon was in the sky, I know the sky was pearly blue And tiny specks of pearl peeped thro’ I know the dew was fresh and sweet Beneath my bare and dancing feet, I know the air was magical, I know the dew was mystical; .But if you really wonder why— Just blame the dew, the moon, the sky, And run light-footed thro’ the clew, And try a night of silver blue, All in a flimsy dress. —Winsome Durie, an Australian girl of sixteen.
