The Cambridge paper says:—At last year’s Cambridge Competitions, Miss ■ Edna Langmuir, of To Awarhutu, won ■ the gold medal for champion vocalist ■ Subsequently the Competitions Society • received an anonymous letter inferring i IliaL the winner was really not eligible, being a professional. Therefore she refrained from entering in the pianoforte classes. As regards vocal items, Miss Langmuir states that she does not teach singing, and has never received a penny for her voice, outside of competitions; thus she is without doubt an amateur as a vocalist, and ciuite entitled to compete in such classes.
