RUN OF ILL-LUCK.

AFTER ROMANTIC WEDDING. ONE ACCIDENT AFTER ANOTHER The romantic bedside wedding in Sydney Hospital a few weeks ago has been followed by a remarkable run of ill-luck for the families to which the young couple belong. The couple were Alexander Leslie Murphy (21), pf Norton Street, Leichhardt, and Miss Eileen Molan (19), of Mary Street. Leichhardt. The bridegroom is still in inmate of the hospital, with a fractured leg. Before the day fixed for the wedding Miss Mary Molan, sister of the bride, who was to be bridesmaid, was stricken down with pleurisy. A willing substitute was found in a Miss Lilly Latta, but she took ill with influenza. The bridegroom, Alexander Murphy, had a leg fractured and had to be taken to Sydney Hospital. The day after the wedding in the hospital ward the bridegroom’s grandfather, Alexander Leslie Murphy (76), was on his way to visit the hospital to tender his congratulations, when he was knocked down by a lorry at the Haymarket and killed. Prior to hearing about his grandfather the bridegroom had learned that his aunt, Mrs Hickey, was in the Coast Hospital in a serious condition, as the result of throat trouble.

A week later the father of the bride James Molan, was knocked off a lorry, and has not yet fully recovered from his injuries. Murphy was next told that his sister, Constance, had been taken ill with pleurisy. She is still in bed. “ We’re certainly unlucky,” remarked Murphy. “ Everything seems to be against us. However, I hope it’s finished now. We’s had more than our share.”

Murphy expects to leave the hospital shortly, although medical advice is against it. llis wife has visited him every day since their marriage.
