METHODIST CHURCH.
*— MORRINSVILLE OFFICIALS. "f At the quarterly meeting of the officials of the Morrinsville Methodist Church the Rev. E. E. Sage presided. The chairman' reported that notwithstanding a number of removals the .senior membership returns were 169, while 19 new junior members were to be received. Encouraging reports were received of the Sunday Schools throughout the circuit, special reference being made to the high standard attained by the Morrinsville scholars in the recent examinations. The balance-sheet, presented by Air F. West, showed a credit balance on the quarter’s working, maintaining the strong financial position of the circuit fund. The Foreign Mission returns amounted to £6B. Arrangements were made for the Home Mission canvass, conference, and orphanage appeals. The local preachers undertook to make provision for a meeting of the Local Preachers' Association at Morrinsville on Labour Day, and a strong committee was appointed to arrange for a circuit picnic on New Year’s Day. It was decided to sek the assistance of a student from the college during the Christmas vacation and to arrange extra services at Tatuanui and Waitoa. The Rev. E. E. Sage was accorded ■ a unanimous Invitation to continue his ministry for a fourth year. In accepting the invitation the Rev.Sage expressed his appreciation of the cordial co-operation of the people throughout the circuit, and made special reference to the happy association with the young people of the various Bible classes. Messrs E. West and W. C. Woodley were appointed representatives to the synod, with Messrs P. Rushton and JA. Mundell as substitutes. Messrs G. F. Oates and J. Milliken were appointed circuit auditors. Arrangements for the minister’s holiday were* left in the hands , .the circuit stewards ’- • •( - , - AU
