His Honour, Mr Justice Frazer, Judge of the Arbitration Court, is staying at the Hamilton Hotel. '•

Mr E. Page, S.M., left Wellington 10-day for Auckland to take up relief duties for about a month.

Among the guests at the Hamilton Hotel are Messrs W. Scott, J. A. Gilmour, and Monteith, members of the Arbitration Court. Among the guests at the Hot Springs Hotel, Okoroire, are Miss Jackson (Englan') Mrs Turner (Wellington), Mr and Mrs A. A. Martin, Mr and Mrs E. A. Reid, and Miss Tewsley (Auckland). Commercial Hotel guests include Mr and Mrs J/M. Edgington (Mokau), Mr R. Rattenbury (Mokau), Mr J. Coupe (Putaruru), and,Mr G. Sutherland (Auckland). .• The Bishop of Waikato has appointr ed the Ven. Archdeacon Evans, of New Plymouth, as his commissary in New ! Zealand for general purposes at such time as his lordship may be absent from the diocese. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. MacDainmid, of Hamilton, who two months ago left on a trip to Java, have decided to extend their tour, returning via Hong Kong and Manila. They may also include Japan in the intinerary.

At the Hautapu Hall a farewell was extended to Mr and Mrs Thomas Bellamy, pioneers of the district, who, having sold their farm, are leaving the district. The chairman, Mr P. I-I. Anderson, on'behalf of the settlers, presented the guests with a silver tea service. On his retirement, after over 40 years’ service, with the Bank of New' Zealand, Mr A. F. Thomson,' who for the last twelve years has been manager of the Whangarei branch, was tendered a farewell banquet. The opportunity was taken to piesent the retiring manager with a grandfather chiming clock as a token of regard from* the -clients of the bank, and on (behalf of the bank staff Mr Warne, 'senior teller, asked their late chief to accept a solid silver cake dish and glso a silver entree dish. An interesting visitor in Hamilton is Mr Clarke Irvine, who is from California and Hawaii, and is on a tour around the world. The visitor is accompanied by his wife, and will leave early next week for Rotorua and the South, thence to Australia and Japan. 'Mr Irvine is an outdoor man, having 'done some long-distance walks in his travels and climbed mountains ag«remating 22 miles i.i height, and last Season sailed across the Pacific in the Honolulu yacht race aboard John Barrymore’s Marinei.
