Taranaki Oilfields, Ltd., reports: — Waiapu No. 2 Well: 1930 feet depth in shale. It, is uncerlain if Hie conditions in the well will permit satisfactory cementing at Hie present depth; if not. will resume drilling for diameter casing. Gisborne No. 1 Well: 75 feet depth of clay and shale. REFORMATIVE DETENTION. DUNEDIN, Tuesday. In the Police Court Francis McClusky, charged with stealing money and goods, was sentenced lo two years’ reformative detention. RECEIVED STOLEN FURS. AUCKLAND, Tuesday. In Hie Supreme Court Archibald McLean, aged 29, for receiving stolen furs, the proceeds of the Newton robbery, was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment.
