MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

BREACHES OF BY-LAWS. In the Magistrate's Court this iorning. before .Mr W.vvcrn Wilson. J.M., several offenders were convicted if breaches of the by-laws. For using an unlicensed vehicle in Victoria Street, Edward Newton Valin tine was coJivirted and ordered to pay costs JOs, and for the use of an unregistered vehicle he was ordered to pay a fine of 20s. with costs 10s. ’ For leaving his car unattended without lights, Andrew Ramsay was fined 10s with 12s costs. An open exhaust on his motor-cycle, cost Lawrence Oldfield £2, with 10s costs. ’ John Clifford Coombridge. for the use of an unregistered motor ear, was ordered to pay costs 70s; for using a wrong number, he was convicted and ordered to pay cosls 13s. On a further charge of using an unlicensed motor car in Victoria Street his pocket was touched to the extent of 20s. with costs 10s. Leaving his mol or lorry unattended cost Charles Cockhead os, with costs 12s. H. E. Capper for riding a. bicycle without lights was fined 10s and costs 10s. For a similar offence Jack Francis was fined 20s and 12s costs. Driver Exonerated. Accused of negligent and dangerous driving, on the occasion of an accident near the Water Tower, Joseph Dalheth. for whom Mr. King appeared, was found not guilty, and the charges dismissed. Discharge of Firearms. For discharging a shot-gun within the Borough without reasonable excuse, William Cribble was fined 10s and costs :10s. For a similar offence Archibald J. Anderson was convicted and ordered to pay JOs cosls.
