CREDITORS LAMENTING.
AN ABSCONDING DEBTOR. AD JUD CE D BAXKR Ul> T. MANY EXPENSIVE PURCHASES. (By Telegraph.-—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Wednesday. Roderick Gordon-GrilTilh was formally adjudged bankrupt in the Supreme Court to-day. .It was stated lie owed nearly £SOOO and that lie had absconded. Mr Mahoney, represcnling the petitioning creditor, said the debtor had been proprietor of a private hold The Mansions, and had run up debts, making several expensive purchases which included probably the best motor launch in Hie harbour, a motor car and piano. The cost of the piano was £750, and £OOO was still owing on flic instrument. When pressure was applied by the creditors, GordonGrifllths absconded to Wellington and he could not now he traced. It was thought he had gone to Sydney. Future action of the creditors will be decided y. meeting at the assignee's office.
