Comments on the Game. Newton hold a prominent position

in the-Auckland League. ■ Both teams gave V good exposition S'ol the code. G. Dufty did not get Sfmany chances, as the Huntly. players "''never left it to one man to tackle him, which goes to prove that any player 'fis only as good as the other side will •-■let him be. Mormon played a real ■rgood game, and was in the limelight Sail the time. McLeod, at five-eighths, "also played "a sound game, and made •5 many good openings. Of the forwards * eevry man did his. share, and the 22 hooker "got more than Ids "share of the ■Shall. Z For the Huntly side., much can he. *™said; they were!-, up against a hard r*proposition in playing such a good ■•• team with nlayers of City experience, -'and' who- have had the advantage of meeting good teams, whereas Huntly have only had one team in the Lower' ■ Waikato competition to give them anything like a try-out. W. ►Miki played a heady, game for ■ so young a player, and no doubt will improve. J. Farrell was on the ball ; all the time, and was tackling for all • he was worth, » Paki- was -well marked, but was i quite equal to the occasion. Smith . would have been .better a bit further i out, but did all-he could at half. The \ rest of blacks'.played their usual - game, and were, always "there to receive the ball->when' "iU ..came...--their ~way. ' and: Pat HSki were the pick oOhe forwards. Allen showed plenty of/dash, and was .conspicuous on several occasions. -R. Stephenson put 1 every ounce into his work, and Jones '■ was everywfiar'«j["-'lf-*would no doubt create a lot of interest if another such game could be arranged to be played in Huntly- ■ : - - --; JUNIOR SAMEA junior game between Ellcrslie and Ngaruawahia, played as a curtainraiser, resulted in a win for Ngaruawahia, by 9 points to 6.
