• • PURDY v. FAIRHALL. BOUT ENDS IN A DRAW. . MELBOURNE, .Tune 21. Charles Purdy (9.8) fought a dray with Tommy Fairhall (9.8.) last night, in a 15 rounds bout. The contest opened tamciv, but livened up in the sixth round. Fairhall then had a slight advantage, but Purdy forced the fighting in ilie remaining rounds and used both hands, lie appeared lo lie Hie winner at the opening of the last round, but Faii'indl rallied and made a draw. The majority favoured Purdy.
