MOTUMAOHO.
A Surprise Visit. A very pleasant evening was spent on Tuesday, when a large number of members of the Motumaoho Bible Class paid a surprise visit to the home of Miss Olive Stark, who for several years has been the class leader. The members voiced their regret that she would he leaving Motumaoho soon and wished her every happiness in her new home. A beautiful “Schofield” Bible, presented by the class, made a very suitable wedding present, which the recipient assured the givers would be prized very highly by her, and that Ihe association of the past years of helpful work together would always remain a pleasant memory. The evening was spent in games, and the contents of the baskets brought by the lady members were thoroughly appreciated. Eclipse of the Moon. On Wednesday the total eclipse of the moon was very pronounced here, and those who had not remembered had their attention well drawn to it by the howls of the dogs in the neighbourhood, these being repeated as the moon again became visible. The weather has been fine, but the frosts during the week have been very intense.
