CLAIM FOR SALVAGE.
HARBOUR BOARD QETS £Bl9l. (By Telegrafh.—Press Association.) GISBORNE, Saturday. An amicable settlement has been cached in the dispute between the Gisborne Harbour Board and the New Zealand Shipping Company over the salvage of the liner Northumberland. The Board agreed to accept the company's cheque for £Bl9l in full settlement of its claims, both on its own behalf and for its employees. The settlement was reached as a result of the Board agreeing to withdraw its claim for £2OOO for Urne lost in the prosecution of harbour works while the plant was diverted to the assistance of the Northumberland,.and for £7OO for the establishment of the charges.
