PROMINENT MAORI PASSES
DEATH OF RAWHITI. The death is reported from Tau Whare, of Rawhiti, a well-known member of the Maori community. Rawhiti, who was a man of more than average proportions was a well educated Maori and was for a t:me secretary to the old king Mahuta. He was prominently connected with affairs concerning Ihe native race in this territory for many years. Deceased had been ailing for some years. The body is being taken to Morrinsvillc where a langi will be lie Id.
