REV. FRANK HARTY.

WILL RETURN IN JUNE*

A BUSY VACATION,

. The Rev. Frank Ilarty, vicar of frankton, who has been spending a year’s vacation in England, will leave London on May 6 for New Zealand, and is expected to arrive at Frankton about June 11.

In the official capacity of instructor and chaplain for the Church ' of England Empire Settlement Organisation, the Rev. Harty will have charge of a party of 30 public school boys. These will be met in Auckland toy the representative of the Society and placed in positions in various parts of the Dominion, the vicars of the parishes to which they are sent being notified of the names and addresses of the boys. During his vacation Rev. Harty has been very active in, spreading propaganda in connection with the scheme of industrial organisation which is linked up with the New Zealand Companies Empowering Act, and which has obtained a wonderful publicity all over England, and has, incidentally, been a great advertisement for the Dominion. His vacation has apparently hy no means been a period of rest, as for the past six months he has been doing parish work in one of the East End slum parishes of London and carrying on with his 1 industrial work at the same time.

Writing to a friend in Hamilton, Mr Harty says he is in good health, and is looking forward eagerly to enjoying the sunshine and fresh air in New Zealand, which will ho a great contrast to the foggy atmosphere and disrnai poverty-stricken surroundings in the East End of London.
