SUNDAY ISLAND.
ATTEMPT AT RE-SETTLEMENT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association). WELLINGTON, Monday. Hon. Maui Pomare lias received a radio from Capt. Cant, of the Ilinemoa, that he had landed Mr C. H. Parker, owner of the only portion of the land on Sunday Island that has been Crown granted, and two companions. This is a re-settlement after 30 years. The last, settlement took place in 1889, but was abandoned the following year owing to lack of communication. The venture is due to the fact 'hat the Hincmoa now passes the island regularly on her voyage to Niue.
