THAMES VALLEY BOARD. The September meeting of the Thames Valley Power Board took place at He Aroha on Tuesday, there being present Messrs P. M. Strange, C \ Arthur, A. Bush, J. B. Thomas, \V. Anderson, J. Price, XV. McCormick, G Howie, XV. K. G. XVillcy, F. Piatt, and J. Corbett. The Public XX'orks Department wrote that ils charts show the voltage at XVaihou varies from 10,700 to Ti.flOO volts, whereas the board's teller stated that the hoard is receiving 10.000'volts.—it was decided that application be made for a j per cenl. increase. The A.M.p. Society, Sydney, advised that ihe terms on which the £IOO,OOO loan has. been granted are: That the loan shall lie for £IOO,OOO, wilh a. currency of 3'fil years at a rate, of interest of 55 pci- cent, and providing that the principal and. interest shall he repayable by 7ft half yearly instalments of £3290 11 s 7d, free of exchange, Sydney. The money, shall be lifted in instalments of £SOOO, commencing April i, 1927; that security shall lie given by a special rate of ; }d in the £. The society will undertake to find the monthly instalments free of exchange at Te Aroha. —Received.. Manager’s Report. The manager’s (Mr It. Sprague) report was adopted as follows; Consumers; The total number ol consumers connected lo the board's mains at August 31, 1926, was 6000, which includes Hie boroughs of Thames and Te Aroha; SI lighting and healing consumers, 63 water-healers, 8 electric ranges, together wtih 59 motors on farms, of which 53 are 2 li.p. milking | motors,, were also connected. Thera are connected and operating sms water-healers, 124 electric ranges, and! Hie Inlal number nf motors eonneeledi and running, on farms is 1719, of which J 506 are 2 Iv.p. milking motors. In Hie! number of motors connected, to Hie board's mains during Ihe month 12 are! on already existing lines. Since las! j merling arrangements have been made i wilh Ihe A.M.P. Society for £.100,000! al 5} per cenl. lo he received in! amounts of £3OOO per month. Quite a demand for motors for pumping pur- i poses on Hie llanraki Plains has set jn, l and to meet same it has hem necessary i to obtain transformers ex stock'. There' were also connected in meter areas! one 50 h.p., one. 40 h.p., one 3 b.p., three 3 h.p., and one J h.p. motors, also four electric ranges. It is anticipated that a further 30 or 40 2 h.p. motors will be installed during I lie present month. Good shipments of poles arc now coming- to hand, and no difficulty is firing experienced with delivery of poles or copper wire.
