COUNCIL’S FORTNIGHTLY MEETING REPORTS OF COMMITTEES. His Worship Ihe Mayor, Mr .1. B. Fow. presided over Ihe fortnightly meeting of Iho Hamilton Borough Council last night. There was'a full attendance of members with the exception of Gr. Denz, who was granted leave of absence. The following recommendations of committees were adopted:— Works Committee. Fence between Mrs McKenzie’s and borough cottage, Palmerston Street: That Mrs McKenzie he,, notified that the Council proposes Io erect, a wire fence with split posts and' strainers, and that she will be required to pay half the. cost, estimated at £7 10s in all. Condition of Lake Avenue.: That- Lawson be advised in lerms of the engineer's report that, iho street will he,, re-graded and sanded-in ■ the summer if funds permit. Footways, Bain Avenue.: Thai, as suggested by the borough . engineer; •a. footway-- be formed in the south side from Bond Street to lire last house. Kitchener Street and Boundary Road: That the engineer prepare, plans of the permanent. levels of Kitchener Slreet so that the work can be approved and carried out in February next, subject Io there being sufficient funds available.; the committee reports that nothing can he done .in the direction of forming Boundary Road to permanent levels until further loan moneys are available. General Purposes. Electrical workers linesmen’s dispute: That the, further reports be left in the hands of- the chairman and engineer, with power to act. Tenement, dwellings, London Street: That the application - be deferred, as Ihe air spare is not- in conformity with, the requirements of the.
