THE RIVERINA.

HARVEST PROSPECTS.

The Railway Commissioners returned last week from a week's inspection of practically the whole of the Rivcrina districts (says a Sydney paper). They inspected the southern railway system, touching Lhe Victorian border at Tumbarumba, Albury, Corowa, Rand, Oaklands, and Tocumwal, covering 200 U miles of railway line. During these tours of inspection, the Chief Commissioner makes close, personal inquiries into the seasonal prospects, in order that lhe department may make its plans well in advance of requirements. Almost without exception, the reports indicated that the pastoral and agricultural prospects are very bright. The whole of the countryside gives promise of bountiful returns, although in sonic districts late rains are retarding the activities of the primary producers.

Generally, it may he said that the prospects are for a season quite up to, or slightly in advance of, the 192-i----25 returns.

The Chief Commissioner received a number of representative deputations, and at many important centres was complimented upon the general efficiency of the services and the progress being made with railway works.
