FREEDOM OF EDINBURGH. TRIBUTE TO SCOTTISH CHARACTER (FicUTer.) (Received June S, 1 p.m.) LONDON, June 7. "The Apostle of Peace" and "The Man of Hie Hour" were descriptions applied to Mr Stanley Baldwin by the Moderator of Ihe Assembly of Ihe Churches of Scotland and the Lord Provost respectively on the occasion of the visit of Mr Baldwin to Edinburgh to receive the Freedom of the City. In acknowledging Ihe Freedom of the City, Mr Baldwin paid a tribute to the Scots' contribution lo British character, which was wholesome, pmifyiog, strengthening and safe, lie ivgivlled that Ihe post-war diminution of Hie spirit of adventure was slackening the How of emigration to the nonunions, but. Sit; said he believed Hie Mile had turned.
