His Excellency the GovernorGeneral, Sir Charles Fergusson, and Lady Alice Fergusson returned to Wellington to-day by the Tutanekai from the Cook Islands. Professor Macmillan Brown will leave Auckland for England by the Aorangi to-day to represent the University of New Zealand at the Congress of the Universities of the Empire. Private cable advice has been received of the arrival in London of the Hon. W. Pembcr Reeves.
Mr E. P. Neale,, of the Government Statistician's Office, Wellington, has been appointed secretary of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce. There were 97 applicants.
