The Board of Trade Committee, which was appointed last year to investigate company law, reports that tiro present system is generally satisfactory. It is not desirable to impose restrictions hampering honest commerce. Share hawking is outspokenly condemned. The committee recommended that house-to-house offering should he a punishable offence, also the supplying of false particulars of cacli year's profits; dividends should be stated instead of averages; abridged prospectuses with application forms annexed should lie prohibited; also articles relieving directors from liability.
