The Prime Minister, Mr Coates, arrived in Auckland this morning from Malakohe. He will proceed to Wellington to-morrow evening. Gipsy Smith, tiie noted evangelist, will arrive ill Auckland on August 23
He is not to lie confused with Gipsy Pat Smith, who visited the Dominion two years ago.
Mr it. G. Hume, for some time manager of the Bank of New Zealand at Morrinsville lias been on a short visit to Morrinsville. Mr A. G. Cant, who is teaching in the Taranaki district, lias been appointed to tiie position of first assistant at the Morrinsville school, in place of Mr O. J. Phiipott who has been transferred to the Okoroire school as head master. Mr Gant is an old Morrinsvillc boy.
A vote of condolence with the relatives of the late Mr S. Clements was passed at tho annual meeting of the South Auckland Friesian Breeders’ Association yesterday.
