CROWDS AT SHOW

[ To-day is the fourth day of flic I biggest and best. 'Winter Show that has ever been held at Hamilton. The ■ attendances throughout have been a I record, and most eulogistic have been | the comments of prominent visitors

from other parts at the gen'eral cxeel- [ lenco of the exhibition. From every ! quarter come the same complimenlj ary references, and the Association , lias every reason to feel the greaicsl j gratification with the results, bath I from the standpoint of an exhibition I and from the wonderful attendances. I Friday in the past has usually been I regarded as an off-day. but from the I crowds streaming through Hie gates | it is very likely that to-day will also j prove another record. Being a day I largely set aside for children, the : Show during this morning and aftcri noon has been thronged with youngsters from different districts, who came in by their thousands in the special excursion trains. One train of If, coaches from the direction of Thames was absolutely packed, and the results should be highly salisfaetory to the Show Association and to the Railway Department also. The committee of ladies which throughout every Show assumes the self-imposed iask of attending to the inner wants of the stewards and other Show workers, deserve a word of

mention. Usually the same little hand of women officiate, and their gratuitous labour helps materially to lighten the labours of the men folk. The hardest worked department of

the Show is the secretary’s office. Where the small hut efficient staff tinder the supervision of Mrs Gothorpo, is kept continually at work on a multitude of delail, amid everlasting interruption. No report of the Show would be complete without reference to their difficult and trying task.
