(lie Federal Treasurer, Dr. Earl Page, gave notice, of bis intention to introduce a Bill (o repeal Hie Surplus Revenue Act of ip 10 and lo make provision for special financial aid lo certain Slates. The Bill also provides for the withdrawal of the per capita payments, a reduction of approximately 40 per cent, in the rates of taxation on incomes of individuals and companies, and the abandonment of the land iu.d entertainment taxes and probate and death duties. ( The proposals are to become effcctive from July 1. The suggestions are a modification of |be proposals submitted at the financial conference of Federal and Slab' Minislers a fortnighl ago. ami whir'll were rejected by the Slates’ representatives.
