PHOSPHATE FROM NAURU.
TRANSFER CF OFFICE. (United Press Association.) MELBOURNE, June 3. The Prime Minister, Mr S. M. Bruce, announced in the House of Representatives that the Federal Government lias appointed a Royal Commission to inquire into Hie working of the British Phosphates Commission at Nauru Island. When questioned regarding Ihc proposed transfer of the office of the commission from Australia to New Zealand, Mr Bruce said Dial no arrangements hud yet been made whereby it would lie possible lo retain tlie office in Australia.
There had been several questions asked with regard to me conduct of business and the relations with the commissioner. Tnese question required very full iiivcsl.igii.liou. For that purpose llie Royal Commission hod been appointed. Pending this investigation the Commonwealth authorities bail asked the New Zeal..! d and British Governments not to take any further action with regard to Hie removal of Hie office.
