CHAMPIONSHIP CONTESTS. (By Telegraph.—Pi css Association.)! TE KUITI, Thursday. The annual North Island sheep dog trials championship competitions were continued to-day under ideal weather conditions. The following are the results:— Long head, bring back, hold in ring; first prize, championship silver cup.— l N. Staniland’s (Pukctapu) Star, total 455 points, 1; XV. Jowsey’s (Hastings), Laddie, 45, 2; XV. Mclntyre’s (Feilding), Chief, 44. 3; R. Guthrie’s Chep, 42, 4; A. Doodle's Bell, 42, 5. Short head and Yard.—J. Lans’s (Dannevirke) Fly, 56 points, 1; G. XX r est’s (Ractihi) Marvel, 55. 2; J. Tichner’s (Dannevirke) Jim, 53, 3; A. Doodle’s (Ilawera), Tiss, 52, 4; XV, Scott’s (Ilaxvcra), Swift, 50, 5. R. D. D. XlcLean’s rose bowl was won by XV. Scott’s (Ilawera) Swift.
