Still, had been incapacitated while playing on May 15. The injury was a fractured rib. The selector for the Waikato reps, advised that P. K. Quin and A. Johnson have been included In the Waikato team to play Auckland at Hamilton on June 3.

Apparently the date for closing the nominations for the Teddy Shield competition was misconstrued. The actual closing date is Monday next, June .7.

The decision come to last week debarring anybody but rep. selectors being inside the wires was rescinded, and henceforth all members of the executive will be expected to patrol the lines to keep spectators back.

match at Pirongia last Saturday forwarded an adverse report re the conduct of sonic of Hie players. lie ordered one player oil the held for foul play, and after leaving the ground the lad (Roberts) commenced to tight with a spectator. The game was played in a very unfriendly spirit, and there was :i good deal of •'dirf.'' Apparently the only bright spot in the afternoon's play was the provision fo afternoon tea for both teams by the Pirongia ladies. It was decided to notify Roberts and t&e Pironsia junior captain to attend

the Union meeting next Monday evening.

The secretary Waikato Referees' Association askerl if the Waipa Union had lulflllcrl its promise made to the Wai- ' kato Rugby Union to adjust matters j with the referee concerned in the re- . cent dispute over Ilic ordering off of a | player. The chairman disputed I lie conlcn- j lion that the Waipa Union delegates' had admitted they were wrong in their attitude towards the referee, in failing to sustain his action. As a matter of fact, at the last meeting of the Union he had entered a protest against the minute as it appeared in the book. I Mr Cavanagh contended that the ! whole procedure was out of order. Any appeal by a referee must go through the Waipa Referees' Association. An individual referee had no . right to go past the association. j Mr Melrose concurred, lie under- I stood the original letter to the Waikato : Association was signed as from tho secretary of the Waipa Association, which was quite wrong, as the matter had never been brought before that association. It was an individual com- j plaint. It was decided to reply to the Wai- | kato Referees' Association that as the Waipa Referees' Association has no official information on the subject, no further action shall be taken. A copy of the resolution will also be sent to the Waikato Rugby Union. Mr Reynolds reported that Franklin Rugby Union was prepared to send a senior rep. team to play Waipa at Te Awamutu about the end of July.—Approved. Complaint was made of cars being parked 100 close to the barriers between No. 1 and No. 2 grounds, and patrons are to be asked to leave plenty of room. IYIORRINSVILL.E UNION. The executive committee of the Morrinsville Rugby Union met on Wednesday. A protest from the United Club j against Terriers seniors playing a college boy was dismissed, as the boy ob- ■ jected to had not played in Auckland, and had been in the district for 14 j days. j It was decided that boys attending | college from the Morrinsville district | be permitted to play for any Rlub during their vacation, but not later than July 31. It was decided in future to play three rounds in the junior matches if there is sufficient lime. Mr Chapman was deputed to decide the winners of the medals presented for the best back and forward players respectively in the senior cup rep. team.

MORRINSVILLE v. MATAMATA. In the Matamata-Morrinsvillc match, played at Morrinsville on Saturday, it was unfortunate that only nine men could bo found to play on each side. Matamata quickly got the ball down to the Morrinsville end, and the .Morrinsville goal-keeper had a busy time in preventing them scoring. Getting away with the ball, Powdrell, with a long shot, made the first score for Morrinsville. This was soon balanced by Whitehead scoring a goal for Matamata. At half-time the scores were I

Morrinsville 1, Matamata 1. Play was even in the second hall, but Matamata backs, by being out of position, gave Murray a chance to score. The latter player, after playing in a match at Hotorua against the Indian hockey team, gave plenty of proot that he had picked up a good many wrinkles from those clever players. Powdrell added two more goals lor Morrinsville. Matamata tried hard to equalise the score, and kept Morrinsville very busy in defending, but Thompson in goal was. equal to the occasion, and cleared well Prowse managed to make a goal from shoit range, but before time was called liastie added another goal lo Morrnsville's total, and the game ended Moilinsville 5, Matamata 2. Mr 11. Cricket was referee.

Attention is called to the Capstan" Football Competition referring to estimation of scores in two of next Saturday's local matches.
