TE AWAMUTU SCHOOL.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The usual monthly meeting of the To Awamutu school committee was held on Tuesday, when the chairman, Mr G. S. Clarke, presided and there were also present Messrs A. G. Wealhcrell, G. Smith, A. T. Cullum, R. J. Fox, G. \V. Rickit, J. F. Brooks, and R. Ross. An apology for absence was received from Mr A. A. Reese. The secretary and headmaster were also in attendance.

It was decided to put up basketball posts and hoops in the infant playground. The headmaster reported that the Piano Fund amounts to £ll 3s Id. That had been contributed by the parents through their children. A lender was received for the laying down of two more tennis courts at a cost of £2<i per court. As this amount was rather more than the finances warranted it was decided to obtain further information and decide the question at the next meeting. The acting-director, Dental Hygiene Department notified the committee of the appointment of Nurse Loach to lake charge of the Dental Clinic. It was mentioned that the Nurse had already commenced her duties. U was decided lo invite representatives of the adjacent schools to join in the arrangements for the operation of the clinic.
