ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL

SOUTH AUCKLAND CENTRE. The first meeting of the new Management Committee was held at the end of the past week in Hamilton, Mr F. J. Carr being elected chairman for the coming season. The method of conducting the Hamilton League competition ' was very fully discussed and it was finally decided that owing to the senior entrants being an odd number, and byes therefore becoming frequent that the junior eleven's play in the senior competition and during the Howden Cup rounds, a junior league competition to take their place. It was resolved that no change be made in the affiliation fees to be charged, owing to this rearrangement. The committee decided to hold over the mailer of affiliation fees to be levied againsl clubs in the Huntly and gold Fields Sub-Associations, until the next meeting pending the receipt of balance sheets from the two centres. The Auckland F.A. outlined certain proposals, regarding a match at Blandford Park on June 3 next, and it was left to the acting secretary to finalise the arrangements at an interview with Ihe Auckland officials during the coming week. Correspondence from the Domain Board was received granting the use of a ground at Seddon Park for the usual matches, and the use of Steele Park for important games.

The Waikato Hockey Association asked that all matches in Hamilton lie postponed on May 15, Hie dale or the Indian Hockey learn visit, and- it was unanimously decided lo accede to this request. Correspondence from the N.Z. Foolball Association was received ami the annual report and account for that body also discussed. It was resolved that full power to represent the association at the annual meeting at Wellington on the 26th inst. be left in the hands of Mr Geo. Cox, members expressing Ihe opinion that the association should be represented. The acting secretary brought forward the matter of a permanent appoinmont being made to his office and agreed to carry on till the next mcctYv'ilh the usual vole of thanks to the chairman the meeting Ihen closed.
