NO NEWS OF CAPTAIN WILKINS. SEARCH PLANE TO LEAVE. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) VANCOUVER, April 22. The Fairbanks correspondent of the Asooiatcd Press stales that Major Thomas Lamphier was expected to hop oft here Into on Thursday in scaoh of Captain Wilkins and Lieutenant Eielson, who have not been reported since they left Fairbanks a week ago for Point Barrow in the aeroplane "Alaskan." The start was delayed while Lamphier repaired a faulty compass. Lamphier's plane, the Detroiter, has been tested. After Hying 550 mites to Point Barrow, Lamphier lias planned to return here for fuel, if he finds no trace of the missing leader and pilot there, preparatory to going north again out over the Arctic ice. Wilkins and Eiclsen were last reported from Thetis island, 100 miles east of Point Barrow, the day after they left here, with indications that they were venturing into unknown polar regions. The air here was perfectly still on Thursday, with indications of a general calm to the north.
