ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
TWO BENZINE EXPLOSIONS. (By TeleKraph—Press Association.) MORRINSVILLE, Tuesday. Severe burns on the face were sustained by Mrs C. Iverson, of Motumaoho, through a benzine stove exploding. A remarkable fact is that her husband, who was bending over the stove, escaped any severe bums. When Mr Iverson. saw his wife's injuries he rushed to her assistance, still holding the bottle in his hand. The wife's clothes were alight, and the bottle also exploded, Mr Iverson again escaping lightly, and Jus wife getting the full force of the second explosion. Mrs Iverson was removed to the hospital at Morrinsvillc. A motor lorry, owned and driven by Mr S. Craig, of Morrinsvillc, got out of hand at the corner of a road at Kiwitahi and went over a bank. Mr Craig jumped clear, but sustained concussion and injuries to ills head. lie is now in hospital. The lorry caught, flro and was completely destroyed. ACCIDENT AT MORRINSVILLE. MORRINSVILLE, Tuesday. On Monday evening, as a large motor lorry, carrying metal, was turning from Snell Street into Studholm street, the stcaring gear gave way, and the lorry dashed into an electric transmission pole, tilling it over. For some two hours the dairy farmers in Mangalcparu, Tauhci, and Tahuna weuc cut oIT and had to finish their milking by hand. Fortunately a Power Board gang was available and had all damage rectified in about two hours. CHRISTCIIURCH, TuesDAV. \ lad or four years, Ross Vincent, whose parents reside in Oxford, North CanlVrfourv, swallowed a toy motor-ear to-day. He is now in the Christchurch Hospital The accident is not so severe as one would believe at first. The toy is only a miniature, measuring one !„,.}, i,y half an inch. No ill-effects are expected to follow.
\ farm hand, Mr Nelson Bennett, single aged 20, of Horotanui, Tahuna, wasadrnUted lo the Waikalo, Hospital, leslerday afternoon with two fingers f.ril a thumb blown off his right hand. He was employed by Mr 11. M. Clothier cf Tahuna. It is not known how the i.ijuries were received.
