ANNUAL PICNICS.

OUTING AT THE NARROWS. ENJOYABLE DAY SPENT. Favoured by fine weather, flic St. Peter's Sunday school children's annual picnic at The Narrows on Saturday was a successful and enjoyable function. The s.s. Manuwai ' was chartered to convoy the picnickers lo the grounds on the hanks of the Waikato, and a largo number of adults also made the trip. Lunch was partaken of on arrival, and the afternoon was devoted lo an entertaining sports programme, which included races for those of all ages. The departure for home was made after lea, and Hamilton was reached in good lime, tine and all spent, a pleasant day, and acclaimed the outing the most enjoyable ever held.

There was a large attendance of scholars, parents, and friends at SI. Andrew's Sunday School picnic, held on Saturday in Mr Scott's beautiful grounds at Ncwslead, the outing being heartily enjoyed by young and old alike. To tin.' children the train journey proved only an added allraelinn, and seats in Ihe cattle trucks were much in demand. A sports programme was commenced early in Ihe day, Ihe various events being keenly contested. The parents and teachers had provided many delicacies in Ihe way of eatables, while needless lo say the lollie-scramble was a most popular item. Before dispersing, cheers were given for Mr Gane (manager of Ihe property), Rev. 11. G. Gilbert, Mr A. Anderson (Superintendent), and lor all who had helped towards the successor the gathering.
