EMPIRE COMMUNICATIONS
IMPORTANCE OF AVIATION
SIR S. lIOARE’S MESSAGE
LONDON, November 18
The Right lion. Sir'Samuel lloare, Secretary of State for the Air, will wirelessly broadcast to-night a statement emphasising the importance of aviation to the Empire, lie points out that' there is no more urgent Empire question than the improvement of communications to enable personal visits to the Holds of politics and trade to clear up difficulties insurmountable by cable. The distance between the chief points of the Empire was the greatest menace to Empire unity, lie was convinced the British pilot would prove a pioneer of Empire unity, lie did not suggest there would be a chain of Empire air routes within the twinkling of an eye, but the day was drawing nearer when great distances would be annihilated.
