LA VENTURA AT STRAND.

La Ventura, one of the most beautiful acts in vaudeville, was presented by Mr Hal Freeman at the Strand Theatre last night, and delighted a very large audience. Posing artistically, La Ventura became the centre of a scries o£ beautifuf pictures, in which the. colouring was exquisite. Flowers, snow scenes, butterflies, etc., were presented, all glittering and gorgeously tinted. The act was enthusiastically applauded. La Ventura will appear again to-night. The picture portion to-night will be headed by the big Paramount production, “Forty Winks,” which is adapted from the well-known navel by David Bclasco, “Lord Chumley,” ancl features such well known artists as Raymond Griffith, Viola Dana, and Theodore Roberts. This is a comedydrama that is all entertainment. An excellent comedy and the latest world news will be screened in support.

This exceptionally popular Jazz Band, specially engaged by J. C. Williamson, Ltd., for their production of “Kid Bools” and “Good Morning, Dearie,” will open at the Theatre Royal for two nights commencing Monday next. This band has been claimed by critics as one of the best bands of syncopation in the world. Hamilton is fortunate in having the opportunity of hearing it. “H.M.S. PINAFORE.” Much interest is being taken in the performance of “H.M.S, Pinafore” by the boys of Southwell School at mo Winter Show’ Hall on Saturday night, and another large audience is assured. The box plan is at Paul’s Book Arcade.
