At a meeting of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society last evening it was decided to endorse next year's shooting licenses warning- sportsmen that those who shoot over private lands without permission were liable to actions for trespass. The sportsmen wore also to be circularised by the Society warning them that farmers were their best friends, and that when shooting the interests of the landowner should be considered. It was stated by several speakers that many persons without licenses shot over farmers' lands and did illicit shooting.
