A CREW DESERTS.
IVSAHENO STILL HELD UP. (By Telegraph—Press Association.') WELLINGTON, Tuesday. After further delays the steamer Maheno was scheduled to leave Wellington for Sydney at ten o’clock this evening. It was stated that the stokehold crew was complete with the exception of two men, and it was believed these would he available after tea. There was an unexpected development. When ten o’clock came the company found that a number of Die men who had signed on during the day were absent, it was decided to send the vessel to the stream to await the return of the missing men, but just as Ihc vessel was about to cast off the rest of the men went ashore. The Maheno was taken to the stream by Ihc officers and engineers. There she is at present.
