FUSION OF PARTIES.
LIBERAL PARTY
MEETS
APPROACHING DECISIVE STAGE,
LIBERALS EXERT PRESSURE
(By Telegraph—Special to Times.) WELLINGTON, Monday.
The Liberals are holding" ;r party meeting to-night to discuss fusion, but Mr Wilford stated that no report would be issued afterwards. Negotiations between the two party leaders. he said, were still proceeding. Since no Reform meeting is being held 10-night, or is in immediate prospect, it may be assumed thai the Liberals have before them some proposal from Hon. J. G. Ooatcs. Probably flic negotiations will be brought U a decisive stage very soon now. Stories' are afloat that the Liberals are being pressed hard by [heir principal supporters' to reach an agreement as speedily as possible.
