ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.

SENIORS. RAILWAYS v. UNITED. Owing to injuries United were without some of their good players, and had to requisition the services of several juniors. Consequently the game at Seddon Park on Saturday afternoon was rather one-sided, with Railways the dominating force. United won the toss, and Moon set the ball in motion for Railways, and within the first ten minutes this player had scored two goals and put his side in the lead. Not long after one of the United defenders put through his own goal and further increased the Railways’ score. Battling hard, however, Ashton, from a perfect centre by young N'icholl, scored a great goal. The teams crossed over at half time with the scores: Raiahvays 3, United i.

From the start of the second spell Bailways were nearly always in the ascendant, and Chalmers put on two more goals, while another of the United defenders scored another goal for Railways. The only other goal for United came from Green, who scored from a long shot. The ganle thus ended in favour of Railways by G goals to 2.

Mr W. A. King was referee. Juniors.

CHATHAM CUP.

HUNTLY V. PUKEMIRO

At Huntly this re-played match caused intense enthusiasm in the district, the attendance being the largest this season. The game was particularly bright and even in the first hair, but neither side could score, the. defence on both sides being too strong for the attacking forwards. Soon after .the opening of the second half, Walker, Pukcmiro's outside left, came into collision with an opponent, and unfortunately broke his leg, Dronnan, one of Hie halves being brought up to the attack. Pukemiro were in no way down-hearted in having to play ten men. Drcnnan scoring twice for them without reply from Huntly, before Die final whistle sounded. Pukemiro will therefore play RoloWfiro in the district final of this New Zealand competition next Saturday, I.ho winners being pilled iigainsl Ihe winning- Auckland Club. Mr H. .1.
