MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS

TO-MORROW’S POLL. CANDIDATES AND POLLING PLACES PUBLICATION OF RESULTS. The biennial election of Mayors and Councillors for the various boroughs will be held throughout the Dominion to-morrow, and generally enhanced interest is being shown in tlie contests. In Hamilton feeling is keen and a heavy poll is anticipated. The inclusion of Macron, in the borough has materially added to the municipal roll, and it is difficult to predict the result. There are two candidates for the Mayoralty and 24 for the 12 seats on the Council. The hours of polling will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., the polling places being as under:—

Town Ilall, Victoria Street, West Hamilton. Methodist Ilall, Wellington Street, East Hamilton. Public Hall, Hall Slreet, Frankton. Whitiora Bowling Club’s Pavilion, Victoria Street, Hamilton. Church of Christ Building, licaphy Terrace, Claudelands. Methodist Hall, Macroa. The candidates are:— MAYORALTY. sFow, John Robert. Webb, Alfred Ernest. ’Sitting Mayor. Simultaneously with the election of Mayor and Councillors, an election of two representatives on the Hospital Board will be held. There are six candidates, namely:— *Barton, Charles John Wright. Burrow, Walter Edwin. Hobbs, William. [Tristram, Henry Exford. Valdor, Ellon, *Webb, Alfred Ernest. ’Sitting member. [Former member of Board. The results from the several polling places will, by courtesy of the returning officer, be posted outside the Times office as they come to hand, it is not anticipated that the final results of the Councillors’ elections will be known till about J 1 p.m., but the result of the Mayoralty election should be known at a much earlier hour. The City Band will entertain the assemblage with selections as they arc awaiting the results.

CANDIDATES MANIFESTOES. Manifestoes by candidates for tomorrow’s election will be found on page 2. Mr A. E. Webb, a candidate for the Mayoralty, will address a meeting in the Town Hall, Hamilton, this evening. Messrs Ilay, de la Marc, Farrcr and Rollelt will hold a meeting at the Maeroa Ilall this evening. POWER BOARD ELECTION. CAMBRIDGE DISTRICT. Messrs W. Harbutt, E. Simon and G. McG. Watt have been nominated for the two seats to represent the Cambridge Road District on the Cambridge Electric Power Board. A poll will be taken on Wednesday, May 6.
