Local Police Station. I The Minister for .Ins!ice, lion. C. .1. i Parr, has replied as follows to the : Pularuru (ihamhor of Commerce’s 1 I e Ingram urging I hat l enders for the ! erection of a police si at ion be called i forthwith: “Itefcrring to your tele- ■ cram of February 17 relative to the i necessity for a new police station at Pularuru, I beg to inform you that the matter has been considered and there dues not appear to he any urgency al present. There are many places where new stations are required much more Ilian at Pularuru, where reasonable accommodation is provided. When the money is available your request will not he lost sight of.”
Mr F. F. Ilockly, M.P. for this district, who is strongly supporting the chamber’s request for the erection o! a permanent police station at PuUimru, visited the rented premises on Friday morning to ascertain fully for himself the cramped accommodation conditions under which the staff are working.
