OBITUARY.
MR T. P. WILLIAMS. WESTPORT, Friday. As he was leaving the course after the last race to-day Mr T. P, Williams, proprietor of the Westport Times and Star, collapsed and died. He was a native of Auckland, but has been resident in Westport since 1857. HI was 07 years of age, and leaves a widow and three grown-up sons.
MR D. KNIGHT. The death is reported from Hawera of Mr David Knight, an old and respected resident of that town, ,• who was well known and highly .esteemed throughout Taranaki, having taken up land at Oeo as far back as 1882, when the first sales of Waimate Plains land took place. The late Mr Knight was well known to the older generation of racing men, and in the 'eighties and 'nineties bred and raced a number of horses with considerable success. Deceased is survived by a widow and family of ten, amongst the latter being Mr F. 0. Knight, of Matamata, and Mrs F. Edwards, of Hamilton.
