OBITUARY.

PASSING OF A PIONEER. The death occurred on the 25th inst., of one of New Zealand’s pioneer settlers at the residence of her son-in-law (Mr J. H. ICrupt), Wellington, in the person of Mrs Julia Falconer, relict of the late William Falconer, Oamaru. Mrs Falconer left Glasgow in the clipper ship Benlomond, and landed in Dunedin in February, 1863. She was married to Mr W. Falconer in Oamaru in 1864, Mr Falconer being in business at that time, and for many years farmed in Otago. When the farm was sold, Mrs Falconer came north and resided with her son and daughtter at Hatnma, and later in Dannevlrke. On the death of her daughter she removed to Wellington, where she passed away. She leaves two daughters, and eight sons to mourn her loss. Her sons are farming in both tho North and South Islands.
