Hutukta, th/0 Living Buddha, was spiritual hetfrt of Urga or Outer Mongolia, and was proclaimed sovereign of the independent kingdom of Mongolia on February 25, 1921, Russian assistance having proved effective in establishing the Mongolian claims to be free from the suzerainty of China.
