son charged with parricide. grim; scene at trial. (Australian and. N.Z. Cable Assn.) LONDON, May '29. The trial of George Cooper and his mother in connection with the murder of George. Cooper, sen., at Bristol, has opened at the Welts Assizes. There was a grim scene when Sir Bernard Spilsbury, honorary pathologist to the Home Oft ice, who was a witness, produced the actual skull of the dead man. lie pointed out injuries on the skull alleged to have been caused by a bard-swung halcnel. Mrs Cooper, in .the dock, moaned and placed her handkerchief over her eye.;;. Her son gazed steadily at his father's skull, which was passed from hand to hand among the .'jury. THE VERDICT. Deceived May 31, 1.25 p.m. LONDON, May 30. George Cooper wag found guilty of manslaughter, and his mother found guilty of being an accessory after the fact. She was bound over.
