THE WEATHER.
The following barometer and thermometer readings, taken from 9 a.m. daily, and weather conditions, are kindly supplied by Mr James Bremner: Barometer. Thursday .. i 29.90 Friday 29.80 Thermometer. Wednesday . . 60 49 Thursday .. 57 48 The barometer fell during the greater part of yesterday, but has now a rising tendency, registering 29.80. _ Indications arc for generally fair weather, with probably an occasional shower. Winds brisk, from a westerly direction, later from west to south, with improved weather conditions. Yesterday was unsettled, with north-east to north-west winds, 0.29 inches of rain falling. Mean temperature 52.5 degrees.
The Weather Bureau wires:—The indications are for southerly, winds, moderate to strong, with a westerly tendency. The weather wiil probably prove very boisterous; rain probable. The night will probably be very cold. The barometer is rising.
