CONCILLIATION COUNCIL.
DRIVERS' DISPUTE. WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Conciliation Council was engaged to-day in hearing the Dominion claim of the Drivers' Federation, which is asking for a 44-hour week, wages ranging from £4 17s 6d to £5 17s, and a fortnight's' annual holiday. The employers counter-claimed in the main for a 48-hour week and wages varying from £3 17s to £4 8s 6d. An application for the exemption of power boards on account of the peculiar nature of the work was referred to the Court. The hearing is proceeding.
