WESTFIELD MARKETB. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their weekly sale of fat stock at Westflcld on Wednesday as under: — Beef: A larsre yarding, prices easier. Extra choice ox 25s per 1001 b, prime ox 20s to 245, plain and unfinished 15s to 19s, prime young cow and heifer beef 19s to 2!25, other lo* to 18s. Calves: a medium yarding; prices for good calves about line same, others easier. Runners £3 to £3 10s, heavy veaiers £2 lis to £:i 6s, medium £1 17s to £2 9s, light 25s to 3-ss, others l'2s ito 235, fresh dropped 4s to Ss. Pigs: A smaller market sold at late rates. Choppers £3 to £-5, heavy and medium baconers £3 16s to £ i 'is, light baco-rrors and heavy porkers £2 18s lo £.'s 15s, iniedium and light porkers £2 2s to £2 16s. Sheep: A fair yarding, prices easier. Lambs: A short market sold at late rales. Best heavy prime 20s to 28s 6d, medium 23s to 25s Gd, light 20s 6d to 22s •6d, others 15s to 19s. Messrs Alfrejd Buckland and Sons, Ltd., report:—At our weekly Westfield fat stock marked we penned 667 beef, comprising 368 steers, 294 cows and heifers and 5 bulls. The demand was sluggish with a further decline in values. Extra choice ox sold to 25s per 1001 b, choice and prime ox 23s lo 245, ordinary and plain ox 20s to 2>2s 6d, prime young cow and heifer beef 20s to 235, ordinary oow beef J3s to 18s, rough beef 6s to 12s. Extra heavy prime steers ranged in price from £ll JOs to £l3 15s, heavy prime steers £9 10s to £ll ss, lighter prime steers £7 15s 1.0 £'9 7s 6(1, light prime steers £6 to £7 10s, unfinished and small £3 15s to £5 17s 6d, extra heavy prime young cows and heifers £8 to £9 ss, heavy prime young cows and heifers £5 15s to £7 10s, tighter £4 to £5 10s, other cows 30s lo £3 15s. There was scarcely an average yarding of sheep, and there was little or no alteration in values. Extra heavy prime wethers £2 0s 3d to £2 2s, heavy prime wethers £1 17s 6d to £1 19s, medium to heavy prime wethers 35s to 375, light prime wethers 33s to 34s 9d, unfinished wethers 29s 6d lo 32s 6d, heavy prime ewes 27s to 29s 6d, lighter fat ewes 24s 6d to 26s 9d, light tillable ewes 22s bo 24s 1-265 sold). The few lambs wihidh came .forward met with a keen sale. Heavy prime lambs 28. sto 31s (a pen of extra special realised 375), lighter prime 25s to 27s Grl, light 23s 6d to 24s 6d, unfinished and stores 17s 6d to 23s (216 sold). Calves were penned in less than average numbers, values for all classes showing a slight improvement. Runners made to £3 13s, heavy veaiers brought from £2 4s lo £3 9s, medium veaiers £1 lis to £2 Is, light veaiers £1 Is 'to £1 12s, small and fresh dropped 5s lo 19s (139 sold). There was also less than an average yarding of pros, which were belter worth. Heavy baconers £3 18s to £4 Is, light and medium £3 3s to £3 16s, heavy porkers £2 6s to £3, light and medium £1 17s to £2 4s, unfinished 29s to 3'ss, choppers £2 8s lo £4 9s, slips 21s to 265, weaners lis to 18s (320 sold). The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd,, report:—At Westflcld fat stock market on Wednesday, beef penned in large numbers was again easier in values. Extra choice oxen sold to 25s per 1001 b, choice and prime from 20s (to 245, plain and unfinished 15s to 19s, prime young cow and heifer beef 19s to 225, other cow beef 15s to 18s, rough beef 10s to 14s. No extra heavy prime steers were penned. Heavy prime steers sold ait from £lO 'to £ll 10s, medium £8 15s to £9 15s, light £7 to £8 10s, smaller unfinished steers £5 5s to £6 15s, heavy prime cows and heifers £6 5s to £7 2s 6d, medium £5 lo £6, light £3 15s lo £4 15s, other cows from 30s to £3 10s, Calves were penned in less than average numbers, being dull of sale, except good quality calves, which sold at late quotations. Runners, £3 2s fid to £3 14s, heavy veaiers £2 10s to £3 ss, medium £1 18s to £2 Bs, light 21s to 365, smaller 10s to 18s, rough calves 12s to 20s, small and fresh dropped 3s to 9s. Sheep were penned in average numbers and sold at improved values on last week's repont. Extra 'heavy prime wet/hers £2 9s to £3 Is (for wethers fattened by Mr W. Duder, Mairactai), heavy prime wethers 37s 9d 'to 39s 6d, medium 36s lo 37s 6d, light 34s to 35s 9d, small and unfinished 30s to 33s 9d, heavy prime ewes 28s to 33s 9d, medium 26s 3d to 27s 6d, light 23s 6d to 265, inferior ewes 15s 6d lo 235. Lambs penned in smaller numbers, sold at late quotations. Heavy and medium ~,ime lambs 25s to 30s, light prime 23s to 24s 6d, best unfinished 18s to 225, others 13s lo 17s. Pigs were penned in smaller numbers, prices for fat pigs improved on last week's quotations, while prices for store pigs declined. Choppers £3 to £4, heavy and medium baconers £3 18s to £4 6s, light baconers and heavy porkers £2 18s to £3 16s, medium and light porkers £2 2s to £2 16s, large stores 15s to 20s, slips 10s lo 15s, weaners 10s to 18s.
